Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Sereneware Soundcraft Research (“we”, “us”) collects and uses information when you visit rubsynth.com, buy or manage a RUB license, subscribe to email updates, or use the RUB application with our license servers.

Information we collect

• Purchase and license data. When you buy RUB through Stripe Checkout we receive your email address, payment confirmation, and a license key. We store seat activations (a machine identifier and optional device label) so the license can bind to its granted machines.
• Machine identifiers. The RUB app sends a stable machine id (and optional label) when you activate, deactivate, or soft-recheck a license. These values identify the device seat — not your name, files, or audio.
• Newsletter. If you join the list, we store the email address you submit and subscription status.
• Support. If you email us or use in-app “Copy info”, we may receive build id, truncated machine id, license status, and a masked key to help debug activation issues.
• Site telemetry. Our host (Vercel) and analytics providers may collect standard request logs (IP, user agent, pages viewed) to operate and improve the site.

What we do not collect

We do not sell personal data. We do not scrape your songs, presets, or audio. Offline use after activation does not require continuous tracking. Soft license rechecks, when online, only refresh entitlement status.

Processors

• Stripe — payments and checkout. Card details are handled by Stripe under their privacy policy; we do not store full card numbers.
• Resend — transactional email (license keys, newsletter).
• Neon / Postgres — license, activation, and newsletter records.
• Vercel — hosting, edge delivery, and optional analytics.

Legal bases and retention

We process purchase and license data to fulfill your order and enforce seat limits (contract). Newsletter is based on consent — unsubscribe any time via the link in those emails or the manage page. We keep license records for as long as needed to honor the perpetual license, prevent fraud, and meet accounting or legal duties, then delete or anonymize when no longer required.

Your choices

• Deactivate a machine from the in-app license dialog or /license/manage to free a seat.
• Unsubscribe from marketing email at any time.
• Request access, correction, or deletion of personal data we hold by emailing hello@sereneware.com. We may retain limited records required for fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or law.

Children

The site and product are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their personal information.

International transfers

Infrastructure may process data in the United States or other countries where our providers operate. By using the site or activating a license you understand that processing may occur outside your home country with appropriate safeguards from those providers.

Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date above will change; for material changes we will take reasonable steps to notify buyers (for example by email or a site notice).
